When Jessica discovered mystery novels with recipes, she knew she had found her niche.
Now Jessica Thompson is the award-winning author of the Amazon best-selling culinary cozy mysteries in the "Caterer's Guide to Crime" series. Her classic mystery novel, "Shoot Shovel and Shut Up," won second place in the Firebird Awards and was nominated for a Whitney Award. She also curated and featured her own short stories in several anthologies. Active in the writing community, she volunteers with the Messy Manuscript Society and as the Finance Chair for the Storymakers Authors' Guild.
She began "Bittersweet Book Tours" to offer her book marketing skills to other authors by organizing virtual book tours including interviews, appearances, spotlights, reviews, and more.
As an avid home chef and food science geek, Jessica has won cooking competitions and been featured in the online Taste of Home recipe collection. She also tends to be the go-to source for recipes, taste-testing, and food advice among her peers.
In college, Jessica was a horticulture major, working in the greenhouse and was an award-winning arborist. She still loves wielding a chainsaw. She interned and entered the professional world as a landscape designer, working with both residential and commercial clients.
Jessica lives in the suburbs of Austin, Texas with her husband and two children. When not writing, she’s getting her boots dirty at her parents' nearby Longhorn cattle ranch. Whether ranching, cooking,
or gardening, she sees it all as plot-inspiring
material for her next mystery.
